ASHIATSU
  • ASHIATSU
Ashiatsu (foot pressure technique) works further into the fascia. It releases trigger points and connective tissues. Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage not only adds more pressure but it also adds compression and throws myofascial stretching into the mix. Compression massage squeezes the entire body from above and below.  This style of massage is deeply therapeutic and tranquilizing.

  • CRANIOSACRAL MASSAGE THERAPY
Craniosacral Massage Therapy is a tool to help one enter a deep state of relaxation. Here is where we can get out of our own way and let the body's healing mechanism work properly, facilitating restoration and rejuvenation. It is a subtle, gentle, and a light form of bodywork. Meryl incorporates myofascial release into her cranio sessions.

  • CUPPING
Cupping is a safe treatment which, in addition to massage therapy, helps resolve chronic muscle tightness and pain. The suction from the cups increases circulation to the area where the cups are placed. The additional blood flow can help relieve muscle tension and promote cell repair. Cupping encourages tissues to release toxins.Focused blood flow helps your body by flushing built-up toxins through the lymphatic system which is responsible for eliminating the body’s toxins and waste.

  • DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massages are used to break up scar tissue and break down muscle adhesions (the "knots" we feel in our muscles are muscle adhesions, which are bands of rigid and painful muscle tissue). These knots can inhibit our circulation and cause pain and inflammation.
A deep tissue massage can help lower cortisol levels and increase levels of oxytocin, which is a hormone that relaxes the body and produces soothing effects. It can help with physical symptoms of stress, such as tight muscles and shoulders and tension headaches. Those muscle tensions usually occurring alongside chronic pain can also be lessened with deep tissue massage, as it can loosen the tight tissue clusters causing the pain.
Many conditions can be modified which deep tissue massage therapy including chronic pain in the lower back, plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, and stiff necks to name just a few. It also allows the body to relax, encouraging healing.

  • MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow the fascia to elongate. This will reduce pain, increase circulation, and help with range of motion.
